A CHARITY that operates a day centre in Bracknell has appointed a new job role to help older people come together and make more use of the centre.

The COATS charity run the centre in Pinewood Avenue, Crowthorne and provide companionship, lunch, tea, entertainment and activities to local elderly people.

The charity has given Clare Rebbeck the role of ‘connector’ so she can reach out to individuals and groups in the area.

The idea behind this will be to bring more visitors to the day centre by connecting with other volunteers, local authorities and healthcare groups to identify senior citizens within the area who can benefit from the charities help.

The charity hope that Clare’s list of contacts and previous experience in the care sector will help her in her new role.

She said: “It is very exciting to be working with such a great charity like COATS to support the older members of our local community.

"We have such a lot to offer with caring staff and fun activity sessions each day, the food is far too nice and all at such a reasonable price, I am proud to join such a great team.”

Clare will also work with trustees of the charity and the management team to identify and implement extra activities and events for senior citizens.
