The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court

February 25:

Shu Zhang, 36, of Lakeside, Earley, admitted to keeping an unlicensed vehicle and was fined £440. They were ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £190.84 and to pay costs of £85.

Jorden Paul Davis, 28, of no fixed abode, admitted to using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and was fined £50.

Reece Collis, 24, of Coley Avenue, Reading, admitted to failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Reading Magistrates Court by failing to attend unpaid work and provide evidence as directed. The order was varied and he must now comply with a Curfew Requirement. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £30.

February 26:

Gemma Louise Bell, 32, of Church End Lane, Tilehurst, admitted to theft from a shop, namely stealing various LEGO sets belonging to WHSmiths to the value of £100. She was fined £100 and also ordered to pay a surcharge of £30.

Kallum Vincent Warwick, 25, of Ambrook Road, Reading, Make off without making payment, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third-party insurance. A previous community order was revoked and he was committed to prison for four months, suspended for 24 months. He must take part in a Programme Requirement for 30 days and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 10 days. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for nine months and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £70.04, costs of £630 and a surcharge of £115.

Stephen David Sampson, 36, of Northumberland Avenue, Reading, admitted to handling stolen goods and two counts of fraud by false representation. He must comply with a Curfew Requirement, Drug Rehabilitation Requirement and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 10 days. He was ordered to pay costs of £620 and a surcharge of £85.

February 27:

Sachin Choudhary, 33, of Henley Road, Caversham, admitted to drink driving and received a community order. He must carry out 90 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and he was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 25 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £85.

Tom Graham, 24, of Mallow Gardens, Thatcham, admitted to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was fined £93 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £30.

February 28:

Michael John Kilbane, 33, of Kings Road, Reading, admitted to two counts of theft from a shop and received a community order. He must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 15 days. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £85.

Levi Porter, 32, of Clayhill Square, Burghfield, admitted to possession of a knife/blade/sharp-pointed article in a public place. He was committed to prison for three months suspended for 12 months and must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 20 days. He was ordered to pay a surcharge of £85 and an order was made by the court for the destruction of the knife.

Stephanie Harrad, 27, of Digby Road, Newbury, admitted to assault by beating and received a conditional discharge of 12 months. She was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £20.

Tanka Niraula, 45, of Regent Street, Reading, admitted to being in charge of a motor vehicle above the legal alcohol limit. A community order was made and he must take part in an Alcohol Treatment Requirement and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 15 days.
