A CHARITY supporting visually-impaired people has received a helping hand from Kennet Valley Primary School.
Ellen Togher, from Guide Dogs for the Blind, visited staff and pupils after a year of fundraising activities resulted in £900 being donated.
The children organised fun experiences for the school, including bringing your teddy to school, a toy sale and ice-cream sale.
Deirdre Devine, head teacher at Kennet Valley, said: “The children were inspired by a visit to school from a local man Stuart and his guide dog Olivia.
“I have been enormously impressed by their desire to help make a make a difference to someone’s life in the same way that Olivia has helped Stuart.”
The school council led the initiative.
