POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man has been punched in the face outside a takeaway.
The incident happened between 3.30am and 4am on Monday, March 4 outside Favourite Chicken and Ribs on St Mary’s Butts Road, Reading.
Two men were fighting and as another man in his twenties tried to break them up he was punched in the face.
The victim suffered a broken jaw and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital but has since been discharged.
Detective Constable Hugh Bailey, investigating officer of Force CID in Reading, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this assault.
“The victim was trying to stop a fight and ended up becoming a victim, we would ask anyone with information to please come forward.”
The offender is described as a black man in his twenties, 5ft 11ins tall and an athletic build.
He was wearing a white T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and had a black man bag and he left the scene on a silver mountain bike.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101.
