A NUMBER of motoring offences were dealt with by police on Monday, including a lorry driver using their phone on the motorway.

Thames Valley Police's Roads Policing Unit reported a number of incidents on social media.

The first happened in the early hours when officers received reports of a heavy goods vehicle caught driving on the wrong side of the road.

The driver was reported after being stopped on the dual carriageway section of the Inner Distribution Road.

A Lithuanian lorry driver seen using their mobile phone on the motorway was issued with a fixed penalty.

Police stopped the driver between juncions 12 and 13 and they were issued with a £200 fine.

One of the officers commented: "One of the biggest on the road; never ceases to shock me how people still think it’s okay to use their phone whilst driving!"

A van was seized East Reading after the driver gave false details to police.

Reading Chronicle:

They claimed to be the owner, but they were caught out and found to be driving without insurance.

Another driver is facing an appearance in court after he was found to have been using an American licence.

Reading Chronicle:

Police found that they had been in the UK since 2001 and had yet to pass the UK driving test.

Their insurance had been cancelled in December and the vehicle was seized.
