A NEW Post Office branch has opened in Caversham Road following a reshuffle.
The centre was unveiled on February 25 as part of an effort to modernise and expand services.
The old branch closed at the end of January, following the retirement of the old post master.
Some people, including Matt Rodda MP, had mixed emotions about the decision and was concerned residents would be left short.
However, the new branch – situated at Caversham Convenience Store – will be available seven days a week and open from 7am to 11pm from Monday to Saturday.
Carlos Pereira, area network change manager, added: "We know how important our services are to customers and are confident that this brand new Post Office alongside the other branches in the area at Broad Street Mall and Salisbury Road will ensure that people in this area of Reading have easy access to our services.”
