THE Bohunt School in Reading has welcomed 20 Chinese students, as part of a cultural exchange programme.

The Bohunt Education Trust (BET) saw students from Guangzhou, China complete two weeks of education at the school.

The exchange students undertook an itinerary to teach them about British school life and understand what its like to be a British student.

The activities ranged from participating in after-school classes, debating in societies and going on a trip to London and the British Museum.

Phil Avery, Director of Education, Bohunt Education Trust, said: “We were delighted to launch our largest cultural exchange as a Trust yet, by welcoming 20 students to Bohunt School Wokingham, along with many more students across two other BET schools.

“We have championed international partnerships and programmes, such as exchanges and homestays, for many years.

"They provide a brilliant opportunity for our students and staff, and the students from Guangzhou, to integrate, collaborate and share experiences of different cultures and approaches to education.”

Their time at the school finished with a closing ceremony, which was an opportunity to remember their experience and reflect on the relationships made during the exchange.

The BET trust has future plans to open a school in China in the coming years and the initiative is designed to reflect its international outlook.
