Two men from Reading who were found to be in possession of almost £1000 worth of drugs have been jailed.

The men were stopped by officers in December 2017 in Watlington Street, Reading, after they were seen in suspicious circumstances.

They were found to be in possession of 37 wraps of cocaine and crack cocaine, 35 wraps of heroin and 26 ounces of cannabis, to a combined street value of just under £1000.

Kawsu Yarbo, 26, of Catherine Street and Jordan Philo, 25, of Tuxford Mews, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply heroin, one count of possession with intent to supply cocaine and one count of possession with intent to supply cannabis.

They were both sentenced to three years’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court on Friday (February 15), and ordered to forfeit a total of £1400 in cash.

Sergeant Troy Cutler from the Reading Stronghold team, said: "Tackling organised drug dealing remains a top priority for Thames Valley Police.

"We will actively seek and bring to justice offenders that deal drugs and I believe these sentences and the forfeiture of cash gained from their criminality will deter others who seek to profit from the sale of drugs.

"Thames Valley Police is committed to working in partnership to tackle serious and organised crime, we need the public to continue to report to us information of drug dealing in their community so that we can bring offenders through the courts to justice."
