The Reading Geological Society (RGS) is looking to reach out to the public to help people understand the importance of geology.

The society organises lectures, field meetings, museum visits and workshops for its members.

The group also supports schools and other organisations by attending science days with geological games, specimens and teaching aids; providing speakers to talk on various topics; providing stalls at local events; leading field meetings and holding meetings which are open to students, teachers and technicians at the University of Reading.

The society is calling on any other schools or organisations that have an interest in geology or earth science.
