Reading Guild of Artists have taken over the Sir John Madejski Gallery at Reading Museum for half-term.

As well as hosting many fun, family-friendly activities during the week, members of the RGA are exhibiting small art works, available for purchase.

The lively workshops, for children and adults, run from Monday February 18 to Saturday February 23, from 10.30am to 3.30pm during the week and between 10.30am and 12noon on Saturday.

Chairman of RGA, Anthony Wilder, said: "The activities are a real-hands on chance to make many Medieval-themed artworks, with the aim of making a Medieval ‘banquet’ for the end of the week.

"And with many small artworks available for purchase – come along and get a unique piece – perhaps you might see something for your mum, as Mothering Sunday is in March.

"I am sure someone’s mum would love a one-off artwork for her special day.

"The RGA is gearing up for its 89th Annual Show – which starts on February 27 and is kindly being hosted by Reading Museum.

"We look forward to many people popping in and viewing the exhibition."

Elaine Blake, exhibitions and partnerships curator at Reading Museum, said: "The museum is delighted to host the Reading Guild of Artist’s small works exhibition – we work very closely in partnership with the RGA and this and the half term activities are just some of the many events we work on together.

"The Museum will also be working with the RGA to host its 89th Annual Show, taking place in the Sir John Madejski Gallery.

"This is a highly prestigious event and another fine example of our partnership working with the Guild."
