AUDIENCES with sensory difficulties will be able to enjoy a tailored performance of Macbeth next month.

The Watermill Theatre in Newbury will present its first relaxed performance of a Shakespeare production on March 16.

This has been specially adapted for people with conditions, such as autism and dementia. It is achieved by making small changes to sound and lighting.

Audience members are welcome to come and go during the show and react naturally, including with movements or noise.

Heidi Bird, outreach director, said: “Following the success of our relaxed Christmas shows, we are delighted to be offering this relaxed performance of Macbeth.

“We are hoping to encourage and welcome new and existing audience members who would benefit from watching the show in a more informal atmosphere.”

Tickets are priced at £20 and £16.
