A REVIEW into the provision of children's services in West Berkshire has identified strong and effective practice.
Ofsted conducted a focused two-day visit of the authority in December and the watchdog was largely complimentary.
Lynne Doherty, executive member for Children and Young People said: “This is a positive report and we are delighted with the findings.
"While not complacent, this objective review of our safeguarding performance provides clear reassurance that not only do we have the right systems in place to protect children, but that they are working.”
Inspectors looked at a range of areas during the visit.
The report reads: “Decisions made when children are first referred to children’s services are appropriate, correctly overseen by managers and lead to prompt and effective action to safeguard children when this is necessary.”
