FOUR people in Reading have been sentenced for drug offences after bringing cocaine and heroin into the town from London.

Following a Thames Valley Police Investigation, Abraham Cardoso and Luri Costa both from London were sentenced along with Stacey Deacon and Mark White from Reading at Reading Crown Court on Monday, 14 January.

They were all involved with dealing drugs in Reading that were transported from London between March, 1 and July, 20 last year.

The four people were charged on July 2018 after they pleaded guilty in December.

Mr Cardoso pleaded guilty to conspiracy to the supply of a range of class A drugs and was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.

Mr Costa pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to four years’.

Investigating officer PC Zachary Rowe, the Reading Stronghold Team, said: “Targeting those who deal drugs is a top priority for Thames Valley Police, particularly those who seek to deal drugs across county lines.

“Cardoso, Costa, Deacon and White saw fit to make a profit from drug dealing, and this will not be tolerated in the Thames Valley.

“Thames Valley Police will continue to target drug dealing through our Stronghold campaign which targets serious and organised crime by working in partnership, and only with the support and information from the public can we do this.”

Mr Deacon pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the drugs and was sentenced to a 12 month community order.

Mr White pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to an 18 month community order.

Thames Valley Police urge anybody who has any concerns or information about drug dealings or other crimes in their community to phone 101.
