A 25-year-old Reading man has been jailed for three years for a drugs offence.

In a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, January 8, Zigmond Allen, of Caroline Court, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

At around 5pm on Friday November 30 2018, officers identified a suspicious vehicle being driven by Allen in Friar Street, Reading, and stopped and searched him and the vehicle.

He was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences, and a further search of his home located almost £1,100 in cash and a quantity of cocaine.

After entering his guilty plea, Allen was jailed and also ordered to forfeit £1,060 in cash.

Investigating officer PC Katie Poole, based at Reading police station, said: “Preventing the supply of class A drugs is a top priority for Thames Valley Police.

“Drugs supply causes untold harm to our communities and pursuing those responsible and ensuring that they also forfeit their criminal assets is pivotal in our Stronghold campaign.

“I would urge anybody who has any information concerning the supply of drugs to report this to Thames Valley Police via 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
