A MAN remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition after being involved in a collision on Thursday.

A silver Ford Transit van crashed with parked vehicles and a wall on Wood Lane, Sonning Common, at around 10.30pm.

Police and paramedics attended the scene and one of the occupants of the van suffered serious head injuries.

The man in his 40s was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital and he remains there in a life-threatening condition.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, failing to provide a sample and causing serious injury by driving whilst disqualified and remains in police custody.

Police constable Mark Dunne, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Three Mile Cross, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the collision, in which a man has sustained life-threatening injuries.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, to anyone with any dash-cam or CCTV footage of the incident, to contact police.”
