THE death of a man is not being treated as suspicious after his body was found on the street on New Year's Day.
Police and forensic investigators attended Tring Road in Tilehurst shortly before 8am and discovered a man in his 50s.
The cause of his death is yet to be determined, but the death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
A police spokesman said: "Thames Valley Police was called to a report of an unexplained death in Tring Road, just off Overdown Road, in Tilehurst at 7.50am on New Year’s Day.
"Officers attended and discovered the body of a man aged in his fifties.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course."
Residents were advised to avoid the area while officers carried out enquiries.
A forensic investigation unit was on the scene for several hours.
