A MAN was punched in the face in the car park of a KFC before thieves stole a chainsaw from his car.
The 38-year-old victim was at the Newbury branch on Wharf Road on Christmas Eve when he was attacked.
At around 11.25am, a tall man of stocky build entered the car park and exited his vehicle, before punching the victim in the face.
The offender, described as a white man in his late 20s, took a chainsaw and is believe to have driven away in a small black hatchback.
The victim suffered bruises but did not require hospital treatment.
Thames Valley Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault and theft.
Police constable Claire Midwinter, based at Newbury, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information about this offence to let us know.
