PARENTS are invited to apply for places at a state-of-the-art primary school in time for September 2019.

The new school has been built as part of the Shinfield West development and is ready to open if there is enough demand.

In addition, Wokingham Borough Council is searching for a new trust to take over the running of the school.

Final offers for places will be confirmed once a suitable trust has been identified by the council and the Department for Education.

Councillor Pauline Helliar-Symons, executive member for Children’s Services, said: “It is great for us to have another primary school ready to open and for parents in and around Shinfield to have another option.

"There are great primaries in the area already of course, but we would urge parents to consider this newly built school alongside the established options.

"I have had a look around the building and it is ready to become a wonderful new school.”

Applications can be made by parents without fear of losing out elsewhere, as preferences for the new school will not impact on the application to existing schools.

The deadline for applications is January 12 and parents can visit the council website for more information.
