RIVERMEAD'S demountable pool will be temporarily out of action for maintenance later this month.
The pool is set to be closed from December 17-19 and will be open again as normal on the Thursday.
The closure will allow for completion of work to relay part of the vinyl flooring around the swimming pool.
Councillor Graeme Hoskin, lead member for Sport, said: “Whilst having to close the demountable pool is unfortunate, we wish to ensure any necessary issues are addressed in a timely fashion, to prevent further work being required in the future.
"We apologise for any inconvenience for pool users. All regular swimming groups and members have been informed."
It is thought the lagoon pool and other facilities at the leisure centre will be unaffected.
The work was identified during a planned building inspection and is being undertaken as part of the original contract.
