A MAN suffered cuts and a fractured shoulder after being viciously attacked by a gang in Reading.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, was confronted by the group in Burbridge Close, Calcot, on November 28 between 4pm and 4.30pm.

He suffered significant injuries during the assault, which is are believed to have been caused by a weapon.

He was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

A 31-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of assault and was released under investigation.

One of the offenders is described as being around 6ft 3ins tall, of stocky build, and was dressed in a dark coloured baseball cap, and blue t-shirt.

There is currently no description available of the other offenders.

Detective constable Pamela Finch, of Force CID based at Newbury police station, said: “This was a vicious attack which left the victim with injuries, which required him to be taken to hospital.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in or around the area at the time of the offence and may have seen or heard something.”
