MORE people than ever have signed up to take part in this year's Reading Santa Run on December 9.

With a choice of elf or Santa outfits, the popular fun run is sure to be a hit and it will also be helping to raise money for charity.

As well as a mini 1km route for people of all abilities, there is a more challenging 5km option for serious runners starting at 10am, half an hour after the first race.

Councillor Debs Edwards, the Mayor of Reading, will start both runs and all proceeds from the event will go to Macmillan Cancer Care and the Footsteps Foundation.

More than 230 people under the age of 10 have already registered and dogs are welcome on both routes.

There is a prize for the best dressed runner and the happiest dog and be sure to keep an eye out for Olaf from Frozen, who will be around for photo opportunities.
