FESTIVE treats and carol singing got residents in the mood for Christmas in Woodley on Saturday.
The popular 'Tree of Light' event saw hundreds gather in the town centre for the pre-amble to the Christmas Extravaganza.
It is organised by the Woodley Town Centre Management Initiative annually and offers the public the chance to signal the start of the festive season with the switching on of the Christmas lights.
Guests enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine, while Woodley Concert Band and the Reading Operatic Society provided entertainment.
Anyone who missed out on the event is welcome to attend the extravaganza this Sunday (December 2).
Posters inspired by the artwork of local schoolchildren have already been distributed to houses in the area, detailing the schedule for the day.
