A MAN in his thirties was attacked last night by a group of men who drove a car into him, then got out and knifed him leaving him with stab wounds.

The victim is currently being treated in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The assault took place at 7pm on Monday, November 12 when the man was walking along Cumberland Road, Reading.

A group of men drove a green Volkswagen Golf into the victim.

Another group of men got out of their grey Series 3 BMW and chased him down the road, stabbing him and leaving him with wounds.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector David Turton, of Force CID based at Reading, said: “We are investigating this incident and following a number of lines of enquiry.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation, but we do not believe that there is a wider risk to the public following this incident.

“As we continue to make enquiries, members of the public will see increased patrols in the area and anyone with concerns can speak to one of our officers.

“We are asking anyone with information in connection with this incident to please come forward.”
