A police chief was the first at the scene after a car appeared to have flipped over on its roof following a crash.
Thames Valley Police (TVP) chief constable Francis Habgood climbed into the vehicle, a silver car, and supported the driver until other emergency services arrived at the scene.
TVP said in a tweet that NHS staff and members of the public also stopped to help.
The crash happened in Middle Street, Islip, near Kidlington.
