A SPATE of burglaries have been linked by investigating officers after valuable items including an Audi were stolen from properties.

Thames Valley Police appealed for witnesses following the series of offences, which have all taken place in Calcot.

Overnight on October 18, a property on Grangely Close was broken into and a rucksack containing a laptop computer and mobile phone was stolen.

The following day, a property on Cambrian Way was broken into, but the offender fled after a resident disturbed them.

Then on Saturday, October 27, an Audi A6 was stolen from a property on Hawkesbury Drive after the offender broke in and stole the car keys.

It is believed that on each occasion, the offender gained entry into the properties by putting an implement through the letterbox and opening the inner door handle.

Officers believe that these offences may be linked and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard something.

Sergeant Joanne Pape, of Newbury police station, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to these burglaries to come forward and help us.

“We would also appeal for anybody in the area who may have CCTV to check their footage.

“Any amount of information would be helpful in aiding our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote URN 346 29/10.
