ONLY a handful of performances are left for the final chapter in an award-winning historical trilogy.

The production of Henry II by Reading Between The Lines (RBL) has won huge praise from audiences throughout October.

Following the success of Henry I of England and Matilda the Empress, RBL decided to bring the third instalment to Reading Minster this year.

The company has also teamed up with Launchpad Reading, First Days Children’s Charity and Reading Minster for bucket collection at each performance.

Toby Davies, co-founder of RBL, said: "RBL Theatre Company was formed to encourage communities to come together and so we are delighted to support local charities.

"Launchpad do wonderful work helping to change the lives of vulnerable people and First Days work incredibly hard to support families in crisis in our town.

"Lastly we are raising money for The Minster. One of the biggest challenges of putting on a play in this building is making sure the audience can see because of the fixed pews.

"The Minster works with the whole community including those on the margins of society. Being able to have chairs rather than pews would mean that the space would be flexible so they can extend their pastoral care opportunities.

"Each new chair costs a lot of money so we would like to raise as much money as we can to go towards this great cause. If the pews were removed it would mean the Minster could be used by a great many community groups."

Performances of the final chapter in the Conquerors trilogy by Beth Flintoff have been running since October 8.

Anyone who has not yet seen the breathtaking play has until October 27.
