The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough and South Bucks hosted its 13th annual Peace Symposium on Saturday at Burnham Park Academy in Opendale Road, Burnham.

Over 200 people attended - to promote peace and denounce extremism.

A poem was read out entitled Peace Be With You and an especially written song for peace entitled Love for All, Hatred for None was sung by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Children's Choir.

Guests included Slough MP Tan Dhesi, chairman of Burnham Parish Council Cllr Judith Foster, Slough and Burnham councillors, plus representatives from churches across the area and Staff Corporal Leigh Preston from the Household Cavalry Regiment at Windsor's Combermere Barracks.

Faiths represented included Christianity, Sikhism, Hinduism and Buddism..

The 2018 Slough and Burnham Poppy Appeal was also launched alongside the Royal British Legion and the Berkshire Poppy Appeal.

Atiq Ahmad Bhatti, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough and South Bucks, told the Symposium: "We have seen an incredible commitment  to the establishment of peace and together we can  and indeed will make a difference to promoting peace, love, equality, tolerance and interfaith harmony."
