CHILDREN are taking to the outdoors to plant healthy vegetables thanks to the support of parents.
Hawkedon School's Parents Association have funded a staggering £17,000 to finance an outdoor classroom.
More than 600 pupils are now putting the learning space to good use and making the most of the allotment area.
Teachers and children have enjoyed spending time outside and getting their handy dirty by livening up the garden with fruit plants and flowers.
Nikki Gladwin-Stride, extended services manager, said: "A great big thank you to all parties that have been involved from the school and our pupils.
"The driven team behind the parents association have completed their outdoor classroom project and the school are putting it to great use."
As well as the allotment, the outdoor classroom houses science lessons and mini Duke of Edinburgh sessions.
