TWO people have been jailed after pleading guilty to burglary and handling stolen goods.

Between Friday, January 5 and Wednesday, May 2 this year, a number of properties in Reading and Burghfield were burgled.

Patrick Thomas Ellis, 32, and Abbey Vincent, 30, both of Wensley Road, Reading, were both charged on July 18, and sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Friday, September 7.

Ellis was jailed for five years after pleading guilty to 14 counts of burglary dwelling.

Vincent pleaded guilty to ten counts of handling stolen goods and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

Designated Case Investigator Leigh-Ann Gilson, of the Investigation Hub at Reading station, said: “Due to overwhelming evidence Patrick Ellis pleaded guilty to a numerous burglary offences in the Reading and surrounding areas.

“Abbey Vincent also pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods from a number of those offences.

“I would like to thank everyone involved in this investigation, including the victims and the effected communities for their continued support.

“Thames Valley Police take offences of burglary and the handling of stolen goods very seriously and will robustly investigate and prosecute offenders.”
