A COMMUNITY coffee shop which has served the village for nearly three decades has undergone a major transformation.
Originally called The Link Coffee Shop, the newly-named Link Café has benefitted from a revamp, with new chairs, tables and signage.
The refurbishment has been funded partly from reserves and from generous donations from Spencers Wood and Grazeley churches.
Jacqueline Fieldsend, community champion for Asda, was on hand at the reopening to present a cheque for £716.
David Orton said: "We now look forward to many more years serving local people, offering refreshment and friendly companionship."
The Link is staffed largely by volunteers, who not only serve in the café and kitchen, but also work behind the scenes to provide homemade cakes and soup.
