TENNIS fans can serve aces and rack up rallies for free at the Christchurch Meadows open day on Wednesday, August 29.

The Caversham-based event will run from 10am and also offers the opportunity to meet the tennis coaching team and find out about membership and pay and play opportunities.

All ages and abilities are welcome, with LTA qualified and accredited GDTennis coaches on hand with equipment.

There are also free Friday morning sessions courts between 9 and 11am available on all three courts during the summer holidays.

Councillor Graeme Hoskin, Reading Borough Council lead member for sport, said: “The positive changes introduced at Christchurch Tennis Courts this year offer a host of benefits for tennis players and I hope it will continue to encourage more people to take up the sport locally.”

Christchurch has four hard courts that are open all year round. Work to clean and re-paint the courts took place in March 2017.

GDTennis provide an on-site presence during the peak months of the year, supervising use of the courts and offering a varied programme of tennis activities and coaching opportunities for players of all ages and standards throughout the year.
