READING Festival takes place this weekend, with hundreds of thousands of music fans expected to flock to Richfield Avenue.

We will be there to cover every aspect of the festival, and you can see all of our reaction in next week's Reading Chronicle.

Kendrick Lamar, Fall Out Boy and Kings Of Leon are headlining the main stage, with Diplo, Pendulum and Wolf Alice amongst the main attractions on the BBC Radio 1 Stage.

To get you in the mood, we've put together a list of the top five artists you cannot afford to miss this weekend.

1 - Post Malone.

The 'Rock Star' singer suffered a scare whilst on his way to the UK after his private jet was forced to make an emergency landing
His second studio album, Beerbongs & Bentleys, debuted at number one on the Billboard 100 chart, and went double platinum later in the year.
This year will be his first appearance at Reading Festival, and he will look to impress on the crowd by performing hit songs from his recent album. Catch him on the main stage on Friday, sandwiched between Creeper and The Wombats.

2 - Kendrick Lamar.

Lamar headlines the main stage on Saturday night, fresh from a whirlwind six months which saw him win SIX Grammy awards, whilst also producing the soundtrack to the blockbuster film Black Panther. The 'DAMN' rapper could be likely to bring out a surprise guest or two, having recently recorded music with Rihanna and Travis Scott, who is performing on the Friday.
'King Kendrick' will rock the main stage on Saturday night, following on from Panic! At The Disco.

Come on, Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, Shay Hayley. Fresh from recording their first album since 2010, N.E.R.D will perform a host of their hits from 'Nobody Ever Really Dies', and are highly anticipated to bring out Kendrick Lamar during their set to perform their joint hit 'Don't Don't Do It", or vice versa, they could appear during Lamar's headline set.
N.E.R.D perform on the main stage after Dua Lipa, before Panic! At The Disco.

4. Dua Lipa

Since being discovered by Radio 1 in 2015, Dua Lipa has had an astronomical rise towards becoming an almost-overnight success story.
The 'New Rules' singer saw her self-titled album go platinum in 2017 and reach number three in the UK album chart, whilst her feature on 'One Kiss' with Calvin Harris spent two months at number one in the chart.
Dua Lipa performs on Saturday before N.E.R.D.

5. Travis Scott

If you simply know Travis Scott as 'Kylie Jenner's boyfriend', then look him up. You will not be disappointed. His last three albums have reached number three and then number one twice. The rapper has been nominated for two Grammy awards over the past year, whilst in 2017 he won a Teen Choice Award for 'Know No Better'.
Scott is known for his energy whilst on stage, and is likely to bring that energy to Reading this weekend.
Catch Travis Scott on the main stage on Friday, before Fall Out Boy.
