AMERICAN rapper Post Malone was forced to make an emergency landing after a private jet that was taking him to Reading Festival suffered a malfunction.

The Friday main stage act was on his way to the UK when two tyres blew during take off.

The aircraft was travelling to Luton Airport from Teterboro Airport when the pilot realised there was a problem.

Post Malone is due to be on the main stage alongside Fall Out Boy, The Kooks, The Wombats and Travis Scott on the opening day of this year's festival.

It is thought 12 ambulances and nine fire crews were on stand by.

He had only just finished performing alongside Aerosmith and 21 Savage at the MTV VMAs in New York.

It is not yet clear if he will still be able to make it in time for his set on Friday afternoon.
