ROAD closures were lifted by the emergency services after a gas leak on Monday afternoon.
Thames Valley Police were called to St Giles Close, Reading, following reports of a gas pipe fracture.
A section of Southampton Street, between Pell Street and The Oracle roundabout, was closed for nearly two hours while teams worked to resolve the problem.
A police spokesman said: "Following the gas leak in St Giles Close, Reading, we can now confirm that the incident has been resolved and all road closures have been lifted.
"Thank you for your patience while this was resolved."
