A CYCLIST was knocked off his bike and beaten as he lay on the floor.

At 2.30pm on Monday July 23, a 60-year-old man was trying to pass a group of four men on his bike when one of the men punched and kicked him, knocking him off his bike. 

The three offenders are described as being three black men and one white man, aged between 20 and 25-years-old.

The incident took place in Circuit Lane near to the junction of Bath Road, and the offenders fled the scene in the direction of Prospect Park.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. 

Investigating officer PC Grant Barber based at Reading police station said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a 60-year-old man which left him with injuries.
