A CHARITY raffle has raised more than £1,000 for children with additional needs.

Woodley-based charity Me2 Club, which helps children with disabilities and additional needs to attend mainstream activities, has been selling raffle tickets throughout the year to generous members of the local community.

On Friday (20), the Mayor of Wokingham Borough, Cllr John Kaiser drew the winning tickets from the raffle, which raised an incredible £1,060 for the good cause.

Staff, volunteers, trustees, parents and representatives from the raffle's sponsors, KJS Solicitors, were on hand to witness the draw, which included prizes from John Lewis, Woodley Theatre and Ella's Kitchen to name but a few.

Liz McDaniel, Me2 Club’s Fundraising Development Officer, said: “We are delighted that the raffle has raised the fantastic sum of £1,060.

"Thank you to everyone who supported us with buying raffle tickets and donating prizes – including John Lewis, KJS Solicitors, Ella’s Kitchen, Woodley Theatre and John Nike Leisuresport.

"Congratulations to all the winners who can be found on our website - http://me2club.org.uk/events/latest/winners-are-announced - and we are looking forward to thanking them in person when the prizes are given out.

"Our next fundraiser is a bucket exit collection at Ascot Racecourse on Friday 27th July so if you are going along please do stop and support us.”
