IAN PLATTEN, 47, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing food and drinks to the value of £20 from Marks and Spencers. He was fined £100 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge fee of £30. *This charge was originally attributed to another person’s name however it was incorrectly reported.

SULTAN BASHARAT, 30, of London Road, Reading, admitted to breaching the requirements of a community order and was fined £100. He was also ordered to pay costs of £60.

JAMES WILLIAM LAYLEY, 32, of Loundyes Close, Thatcham, admitted to two counts of assault by beating and was ordered to pay £206 in compensation. He must carry out a rehabilitation activity requirement for a maximum of 45 days and to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.

BENJAMIN GEORGE PURKISS, 35, of Crockhamwell Road, Woodley, admitted to breaching the requirements of a community order and was ordered to pay costs of £60. He must also complete 121 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.

LUKE STEPHEN ROBIN TURNER, 30, of Lulworth Road, Reading, denied assault by beating, criminal damage to property and disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress. He was convicted after trial and received a prison sentence of 26 weeks, suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £775 and a victim surcharge of £115.

STEVEN WINDEBANK, 56, of Willow Street, Reading, admitted to possessing a bladed article in a public place and failing to surrender to court. He was ordered to carry out a rehabilitation activity requirement for 20 days and pay a surcharge of £85.

JAMES ROSS NYSSEN, 42, of East Lane, Newbury, admitted to failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He was ordered to pay costs of £620 and was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 36 months.

CASSIM KAWEESA, 27, of Wokingham Road, Reading, admitted to drink-driving and was ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work. He must complete 10 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £85 costs.

LUKE DARRALL, 24, of Skermedale Way, Lower Earley, admitted to fraud by false representation intending to make a gain, namely £9,493. He was sentenced to prison for six months, suspended for 24 months. He must complete 200 hours of unpaid work and 10 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement.

JULIE LISA ROGERS, of Vernon Crescent, Reading, admitted to drink-driving and was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 17 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85.

IAN HALL, of Kensingston Road, Reading, assaulting a constable and using a mobile phone while driving. He was convicted after trial and fined £600. He was also ordered to pay £650 costs and compensation of £100.

CHRISTOPHER BLACK, of Padworth Farm, Aldermaston, admitted to operating a regulated facility, namely the storage of waste wood on land at Padworth Saw Mill, other than under and to the extent authorised by an environmental permit. He was fined £1230, ordered to pay costs of £15,547 and must remove all of the controlled waste from the site.
