A CHARITY in Woodley is buzzing after receiving a letter of congratulations from its biggest fan - the Prime Minister.

Me 2 Club, which is based in Woodley and helps children with disabilities and additional needs to access mainstream activities, received the letter after its volunteers and supporters completed a sponsored row-a-thon in Woodley precinct on May 25.

The event raised £739, which will go towards training new volunteers and 'buddies'.

The letter said: "It is fantastic to hear that the club raised £739 and I am sure that the buddy system and the leisure activities the club offers are without a doubt a great lifeline for many local children.

"I wish you the very best in finding new mentors over the next couple of months and please pass my gratitude on to the rest of the team; they have all done very well!"

The charity's Fundraising Development Officer, Liz McDaniel said: "It was really exciting to receive such a supportive letter from The Rt Hon Theresa May MP.

"We know she is a keen follower of our work within the local area and the whole team appreciated hearing her congratulations.

"As she mentioned we are looking for more volunteer ‘mentors’ and if you are interested in finding out more please take a look at http://me2club.org.uk/volunteers/ as our next training course is running on 16th and 17th July”.
