A PASSENGER was seen touching himself inappropriately on a bus in front of other people.

The man was on the upper deck of a Number 6 bus on July 7 at around 9am, shortly before the Bridge Street stop in the town centre.

He left the bus near Reading Civic Centre after fellow passengers became concerned.

A 19-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency.

He is currently in police custody.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward in connection with the incident of outraging public decency.

Investigating officer, police constable Colin Boyes, based at Reading police station, said: “We are investigating this incident and have made an arrest.

“If anyone witnessed the incident, or has any information which they think could help our investigation, I would ask them to get in touch.

“Anyone with any information should call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
