MORE than 200 enthusiastic students were inspired to take up a career in science thanks to a careers fair.
Leighton Park School welcomed TV personality and biologist Dr Emily Grossman on July 2 for a guest lecture.
Dr Grossman recently joined astronaut Tim Peake as one of the nation's two honorary STEM ambassadors.
She said: “I was delighted and honoured to present the inaugural STEM lecture at Leighton Park. It has been a privilege to be inspiring the scientists and engineers of tomorrow.
“I love bringing simplicity and clarity to others. I think of myself as a translator, a bridge between the scientific community and the public.”
Visiting schools, including The Abbey and Waingels, also attended the careers fair and were given advice on how to pursue their newfound passion.
The careers event is one of a series of STEAM initiatives launched in 2017 by Leighton Park School.
