A DRUG dealer has been sent to prison after dealing drugs in daylight and threatening a police officer.

Jay Skinner, 20, of Fisher Close, Enfield, was caught in Forbury Gardens in Reading exchanging packages at 7.30pm on Sunday April 15.

He ran away from the police and during the chase he threatened to stab a police officer, though it was later found he did not have a knife on him.

Skinner was arrested and charged that same day, before appearing at Reading Crown Court on Monday June 18.

He admitted one count of possession with intent to supply cannabis, possession of criminal property and using threatening words.

Skinner was sentenced to a total of 18 months and two weeks in prison.

Investigating officer PC Zachary Rowe of the Reading Stronghold team said: “Preventing drug dealing is a key priority for Thames Valley Police.

“County lines involve organised groups coming into the Thames Valley from larger cities, who then exploit vulnerable people.

“The Stronghold team will tirelessly pursue organised criminals who bring drugs into the Thames Valley and will work hard to keep our communities safe.”
