A BURGLAR forced his way into a home while the owners were out before fleeing with cash, a watch and gold ring.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after the raid on the home Canterbury Road in Whitley, which took place at 10am on June 6.

The thief forced entry through a side door at the rear of the property and stole a quantity of cash along with a ladies gold watch and gold V-shaped ring.

Both pieces of jewellery were stored in a green box with gold trimming on the outside which was also taken.

Investigating officers have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the offences.

Police constable Stuart Keys, from the Reading Investigation Hub, said: “I am keen to speak to the man in this CCTV image, as he may have information which is vital to our investigation.
