LECTURERS and students are celebrating after the University of Reading made a coveted shortlist for the fourth year running.

As well as ranking in the top 200 universities in the world, it ranked 29th out of the 76 UK institutions.

Highlights include a strong performance globally for the ratio of international students and the amount of international academics.

Sir David Bell, vice-chancellor of the university, said: This is no mean feat and we are proud to have achieved this status once again.

“Reading has always had a strong international outlook and I am pleased that we continue to attract both students and academics from overseas, particularly at a time when the majority of UK institutions seem to be feeling the impact of Brexit on staff and student numbers."

Published annually, the league table is based on expert opinion from thousands of academics all over the world.
