THE DEATH of a man whose body was discovered in a popular park is not being treated as suspicious, police say.

Officers were called to Prospect Park in Tilehurst yesterday following reports that a member of the public had found a body.

When they arrived at the scene, shortly after 5.15pm, it immediately became clear that a man in his forties had died.

A police spokesman said: “The cordon at prospect Park was in relation to an unexplained but non suspicious death of a man in his forties.

“We were called to the park at about 5.15pm yesterday after a body of a man was found in the park.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
