THE biennial Sonning Scarecrow Trail attracted thousands of visitors to the village over the weekend to come and look at the eye-catching displays.

Residents from across the village put together 62 exhibits for the trail, ranging from Peter Rabbit to US President Donald Trump.

Around 4,000 trail maps were sold over the weekend, which showed where the scarecrows were and gave entrance to five open gardens around the village.

Organiser Barbara Carr said: "It went extremely well, the weather was beautiful which always helps."

The most popular scarecrow was On Safari, followed by Little Hands Build Beautiful Walls and Early Man.
