A MAN suffered a broken jaw in an early morning serious assault.

At 4.20am on Saturday April 7, a man was discovered laying injured outside the Premier Store in St Mary's Butts.

He is 25-years-old and had swelling to his face and head, and was bleeding from the mouth. When he was taken to Royal Berks it was found that he had a broken jaw. 

He had a multi-coloured baseball cap stolen during the incident.

Thames Valley Police has released the above image of a man they wish to speak to, who they believe may have seen the assault, it is not believed that he had any part in it.

Investigating officer PC Hannah Bee, of Force CID at Reading Police Station, said: “This was a nasty assault, leaving the victim with facial and head injuries.

“We believe that the man in the images we have released will be able to provide us with information which will help with enquiries.

“I am appealing for him, or anybody who recognises him, to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 43180103729.”
