A PROPERTY in Reading has been closed by police following reports of criminal behaviour.
Reading Magistrates' Court granted a closure order on the 48 Pennyroyal Court on Thursday, May 3, lasting three months.
Thames Valley Police officers applied for the order following reports of disorderly, offensive and criminal behaviour at the address. The closure order prohibits anyone other than the tenant and specified persons from entering the property. Anyone found breaching the order will be arrested and could face a fine or prison sentence.
PC Tom Waters from the Stronghold Team said: “This is one of many closure orders that we have obtained in the last few months in Reading. We treat the organised dealing of drugs in the community as a top priority and we will work tirelessly to stop those that exploit vulnerable people.
“We advise members of the public experiencing similar issues to report instances of anti-social behaviour to 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
