A SPORTS car was damaged 'by a firearm' during a late night incident. 

The white BMW 5 Series was attacked at 9.30pm on Wednesday May 2.

The car was parked on Virginia Way, Southcote, at the time, and was left with a hole in the passenger door and a hole in the driver side window.

Nobody was hurt during the incident, which police believe was targeted.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Lucie Singh, of Force CID based at Reading police station, said: "We are investigating this incident of criminal damage and our enquiries lead us to believe the damage was caused by a firearm.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at around the time of the offence, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously nearby, to contact police.

"Additional patrols have been taking place in the area since the incident, which we believe may have been targeted.

"If anyone has anything they wish to raise with police or any concerns, please approach and speak to an officer in the area or call our non-emergency number, 101."
