A TEENAGE drug-dealer has been jailed for five years after being caught with almost 100 wraps of cocaine. 

Amaru Anderson, 18, of High Road, Essex, admitted two counts of possession with intent to supply heroin and two counts of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine. 

Last March, Anderson was spotted carrying out a drug deal, where he was in possession of 91 wraps of cocaine and 23 wraps of heroin in St Giles Close, Reading. 

Then, in November, he was found with heroin and cocaine at an address in Albany Road, Reading.

He was sentenced at Reading Crown Court after admitting the four charges.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Brian Simmonds from Reading Police Station said: “This is an example of the commitment from Thames Valley Police to disrupt the supply of drugs in the area.

“Drug dealers cause significant harm to our community so officers will continue to work hard tackling drug crime and we will continue to work with the Crown Prosecution Service to bring offenders to court.

“We want to protect the most vulnerable people in the community and prevent them from being exploited; while also offering support to those who are suffering from addiction.

“This was a significant operation and should come as a warning to those taking part in illegal activity, officers are working to bring them to justice.
