THE MAJORITY of children have been offered a place at their preferred primary school in West Berkshire.
Only two per cent did not get a place at one of their three top choices, with 93 per cent getting into their first choice overall.
Nearly 1,800 applications were received by the council's admissions team this year, with most people choosing to apply online.
Ian Pearson, head of Education at the council, said: “I am really pleased that so many children in West Berkshire will have a place in their chosen school this year.
“We work hard to meet demand and to place as many children as possible in their preferred schools.”
Parents who are not satisfied with the outcome of the placement their child received are invited to follow the appeals process.
